Bbosa was fatally shot on February 25 while driving with his wife and maid in Lungujja Parish around 6pm. The CID Directorate appealed on March 4, 2024, for information on Lujja Bbosa Tabula, a 38-year-old resident of Kabango village, Kakoola parish, Mutubagumu Sub County in Mpigi District, believed to be involved in the shooting.

Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, warned that harboring the suspect would result in arrest and charges. Seven suspects, including Milly Naluwenda, a Buganda Court Kisekwa official, have been apprehended. However, more suspects remain at large. President Museveni awarded Abdul Katabazi, a plumber from Kikandwa Zone, with the Nalubaale medal for courageously apprehending the suspected assailants.

The Nalubaale Medal is given to civilians contributing to Uganda’s political development through various means. Museveni praised Katabazi’s bravery during an event at State House Entebbe. Murders, particularly those involving shootings, have risen, with 4,366 people killed in 2023, marking a five percent increase from 2022, with 330 fatalities resulting from shootings.
