Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially introduced Belgian coach Paul Put as the new head coach of the Uganda Cranes. Put, aged 67, has signed a two-year contract, and the announcement was made during a press briefing at FUFA House.
Paul Put brings extensive experience in African football, having previously served as the head coach for national teams in countries such as The Gambia, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Kenya, Guinea, and Congo. He takes over from Milutin Sredojevic, known as Micho, who departed from FUFA in September.
Paul Put’s initial challenge as head coach will be to prepare the Uganda Cranes for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. In this competition, Uganda will face Guinea and Somalia, and both matches are scheduled to be played in Morocco.
