KAMPALA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — In a chat with BBC Radio 1Xtra’s host Remi Burgz, the “Somebody’s Son” singer announced that she will embark on a 17-date North American tour ‘Water & Garri’. The singer announced the tour while hanging out with Remi Burgz at BBC Radio 1Xtra, last week.
Water & Gari EP was a great success and included contributions from worldwide musical heavyweights, creating a genre-bending project of dreams.
Among the artists on the EP are Nas, who lends his lyrical expertise to “Work Fada,” Brandy, a legend of R&B, and Ghanaian songwriter Amaarae.
Tiwa Savage is quite well known in Europe and North America as the first female artist to win the Best African Act award at MTV’s 2018 European Music Awards and was named one of Vogue’s ‘Most Inspirational Women’, as well as the first African artist to have a Billboard magazine cover dedicated to them.
The Nigerian star will perform at ‘LETSGETFR.EE’ in New York City later this year, with a lineup that includes Wizkid, Tems, Mr Eazi and international names Missy Elliot, Anderson Paak, Kali Uchis, Bas, Jhene Aiko, and too many others.
Matthew Morgan, the founder of AFROPUNK, is bringing his festival to Flushing Meadows Corona Park in August.
