Muhammad Ssegirinya, Kawempe North’s MP, has passed away at just 36 years old. Rubaga Hospital broke the sad news on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

The hospital said he died at 12:10 PM after struggling with a serious illness that had taken a heavy toll on him over the past few months.

“With deep sorrow, Rubaga Hospital announces the passing of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, the Honorable Member of Parliament for Kawempe North,” the statement read. “Despite all efforts to ensure his recovery, he passed away today at 12:10 PM.”

Earlier in the day, Sr Grace Nanyondo, the hospital’s acting executive director, had called for prayers, saying his condition was critical.
