Princess Ruth Komuntale, 33, has given birth to Jamari Mathew Farquharson Adyeeri, her first child, in the US, where she has been living for some time.

KAMPALA, UGANDA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — This week, the Tooro Kingdom’s Princess Ruth Komuntale Nsemere gave birth to her first child. The birth took place safely in the US where she has lived for several years.

  • In an announcement on social media, the Tooro Kingdom confirmed the gender and name of Princess Ruth Komuntale’s first child.
  • In addition to sharing the same birthday with Queen Best Kemigisa’s grandfather, Princess Ruth Komuntale Nsemere’s first child, Jamari Mathew Farquharson Adyeeri, was born in September, in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Tooro Kingdom as well as King Oyo’s 27th coronation.

The Tooro Kingdom announced the birth of Princess Ruth Nsemere Komuntale’s new baby on social media, revealing the child’s gender and name.

The new born child of Princess Ruth Komuntale Nsemere, Jamari Mathew Farquharson Adyeeri, is a blessing to the Kingdom since the new-born baby shares the same birthday as Queen Best Kemigisa’s grandfather. 

He was born in September in the month of King Oyo’s 27th Coronation and at the time when the Tooro Kingdom celebrates its 200th anniversary.

The royal couple had hoped to have a child soon, and their announcement was made official by the Tooro Kingdom’s King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru. Phil and Princess Komuntale were married in May 2021. Their first child will be a boy, named Jamari Mathew Farquharson Adyeeri.

I welcome my first handsome nephew to the Royal Family. May God bless both parents and the baby,” tweeted her brother, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

“Glory be to God for the gift of a first grandchild, baby Jamari Mathew Farquharson Adyeeri, born to HRH Princess Nsemere Komuntale Akiiki, Batebe of Tooro and Philip Farquason Adyeeri,” Queen Best Olimi Kemigisa wrote in a tweet.

Her husband Anthony Phil Amooti is an IT engineer and a DJ. They got married in May in Texas. The couple had been living in Las Vegas.

Princess Komuntale’s brother, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, and the Queen Mother, Best Kemigisha, attended their wedding in Dallas, Texas in the U.S. As for the couple, they are happy with their first addition. 

The first marriage of Komuntale ended in divorce

Komuntale divorced her former husband, Christopher Thomas, in 2013. She later married Anthony Phil, an African-American, and the two have now become parents to Jamari Mathew Farquharson Adyeeri. 

Komuntale and Christopher, the two split up in 2013. Neither of them has revealed the reasons for their split, but Thomas apologized to Komuntale for leaving her without children.

In 2022, however, Christopher died in the US, according to Thomas’s sister Cretia Thomas, years after the pair broke up.

A reaction to Princess Ruth Komuntale’s first child on Twitter

Celebrities in Uganda have taken to social media platforms to congratulate Komuntale. KFM’s Lynda Ddane congratulated Komuntale and Tooro Kingdom as a whole.

“CONGRATULATIONS, Her Royal Highness Princess Nsemere Komuntale Akiiki, Batebe of Tooro and Philip Farquason Amooti. Massive Congratulations to the Kingdom of Tooro,” Lynda Ddane tweeted.

Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, the minister for East African Community Affairs, also tweeted congratulations. She said:

“Congratulations to HRH Princess Komuntale and her Spouse, His Majecty the Omukama of Tooro , Queen Best and the Royal Family of Tooro on the birth of baby,” Kadaga tweeted.
