Backstreet Boys to Perform in South Africa for First Time on DNA World Tour

On Monday, Big Concerts confirmed that Backstreet Boys - composed of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson - would be performing for the first time in South Africa.

For the first time ever, Backstreet Boys will perform in South Africa as part of the 2023 DNA World Tour.

In a statement on Monday, Big Concerts confirmed that the Backstreet Boys – who are comprised of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson – will play their first South African show.

KAMPALA, UGANDA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — The Backstreet Boys will be touring South Africa in May 2023, with dates on May 16th in Cape Town at the Grand Arena/GrandWest Casino and May 19th in Pretoria at SunBet Arena/Time Square. 

  • The Backstreet Boys will be performing in South Africa for the first time on their DNA World Tour 2023. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, 24 February exclusively from www.ticketmaster.co.za, with a Discovery Bank pre-sale beginning at 9am on Wednesday 22 February and running until 8.59am on Friday 24 February.
  • Also available on Backstreet Boys’ YouTube channel are episodes from their new docuseries, ‘Making Of The DNA Tour’, giving fans an inside look at their preparations for their highly-anticipated world tour.

Tickets for the DNA World Tour will go on sale at 9 am on Friday, 24 February exclusively from www.ticketmaster.co.za. The Discovery Bank pre-sale tickets will be available from 9 am on Wednesday, 22 February.

Backstreet Boys: who are they?

The Backstreet Boys are an American vocal group consisting of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson. 

They rose to fame in the late 1990s with their teen pop sound before maturing into adult-oriented pop. The band has released nine studio albums since 1993, including Millennium (1999) and DNA (2019).

With the success of their new album, the Backstreet Boys launched the DNA World Tour in May 2019, their biggest arena tour in 18 years.

The Backstreet Boys have been producing the highest quality pop music for 29 years, establishing them as a major influence on pop music.

BSB has achieved worldwide sales of over 130 million records, numerous awards and countless number-1 hits. This makes the band the best-selling boy band in history.

The group released DNA, their Grammy-nominated 10th studio album, in early 2019. DNA debuted at number one and includes the Top 10 hit Don’t Go Breaking My Heart. 

This was BSB’s first Billboard Hot 100 hit in 10 years, and it earned the group a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

Backstreet Boys kicked off The DNA World Tour, a worldwide arena tour that has seen the band sell out venues in North America, Europe, Asia and South America, thanks to the success of their new album.

‘Making Of the DNA Tour’, the band’s new docuseries, provides fans with an inside look at the preparations for their highly-anticipated world tour.
