Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Ugandan businessman Hajji Sulaiman Kabangala Mbuga, also known as SK Mbuga, has taken a leading role in fundraising efforts for the treatment of Linda Ainembabazi, an aspiring news anchor diagnosed with stage 3 Fibrosarcoma cancer. The director of STV Uganda generously donated Shs4 million towards this crucial cause.
The story of 15-year-old Linda Ainembabazi first gained attention in September when it was revealed that she urgently needed a bone marrow transplant and required 230 million shillings for treatment in India due to a diagnosis of Leukemia. Linda’s father, grappling with the aftermath of a stroke two years earlier, faced financial challenges in meeting these medical expenses.
However, upon Linda’s journey to India for treatment, it was discovered that she was suffering from stage 3 Fibrosarcoma cancer, necessitating immediate attention. With Linda’s family unable to cover the substantial medical costs, they reached out to the public and well-wishers for support.
Responding to this call for assistance, Hajji SK Mbuga, along with other compassionate individuals like Frank Mwesigye, contributed to a charity campaign that successfully raised over Shs53 million for Linda’s treatment. SK Mbuga, confirming his contribution, underscored the significance of saving a life, stating, ”Let’s join hands and save this little soul, for ‘whoever saves a life, it’s equivalent to saving the entire mankind.’ I’ve contributed 4 Million Shillings towards this noble cause.”
