Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — The nominations for the 2023 MTN Liberia Music Awards (MLMAs) were recently announced during an event held at Club Montserrado in Monrovia. The main awards ceremony is scheduled to take place later this year.
Established in June 2014, the MLMAs aim to recognize outstanding artists, not only in Liberia but also from the broader music scene. The 2023 edition is set to acknowledge works released between August 2022 and July 2023, encompassing more than 20 categories.
In the previous year, Afropop artist TeddyRide enjoyed significant success, clinching the prestigious Artist of the Year award. TeddyRide also secured three additional awards in categories such as Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year.
This year’s top nominees include JZyNo and Nuchie Meek with seven nominations each, MC Caro and Anitram with six nominations, and J Slught with five nominations.
