Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in Uganda has contributed UGX 30 million (approximately $8,000) towards the upcoming Busoga royal wedding scheduled for November 18, 2023, in Bugembe. The NRM Secretary General, Richard Todwong, presented the cash to the Katukiro (Prime Minister) of Busoga Kingdom, Dr. Joseph Muvawala, at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.

Todwong expressed the NRM’s appreciation for the Busoga Kingdom’s hospitality and its role in promoting a unified Uganda. He acknowledged Busoga as a melting pot where people from diverse tribes come together to contribute to the country’s development.

The NRM leader also praised the Kyabazinga (King) for his support of government poverty alleviation initiatives.

Dr. Muvawala, in response, thanked the NRM for respecting Busoga’s rich cultural heritage and making a significant contribution to the upcoming royal wedding. He emphasized the importance of tapping into the emotions associated with culture and expressed the kingdom’s expectations that the NRM would utilize these emotions for the betterment of both the party and the nation.

The Busoga royal wedding will unite Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV and Jovia Mutesi in a ceremony at Christ’s Cathedral Church in Bugembe on November 18, 2023.
