Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Late Margaret Aanyu, the Soroti Chief Magistrate, who passed away on October 15 following a fall at her home, will be laid to rest on October 21 in Kasooka Village, Bukedea district. The burial arrangements are as follows:
- A burial arrangement meeting will be held on October 17 in Kiwatule, near Cynabel Supermarket.
- On October 18, a vigil will take place at her home on Mamerito Road, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
- On October 19, a funeral mass will be held at St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church in Ntinda at 9:00 am. Afterward, the body will depart for St Jude Church in Bukedea.
- On October 20, prayers will be conducted at St Jude Catholic Church, Bukedea at 9:00 am. The body will then be transported to Kasooka Village in Bukedea District for a vigil and burial on October 21.
The passing of Magistrate Aanyu was announced by the Judiciary on Sunday. The Uganda Law Society expressed its condolences and remembered her as a champion of justice, extending sympathies to her family, the Uganda Judiciary, and the legal community.
