On 28 August, the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) announced the complete list of winners at the Sun City Superbowl in Rustenburg.
KAMPALA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — A complete list of winners was announced for the 2022 edition of the South African Music Awards, hosted by Nandi Madida at the Sun City Superbowl in Rustenburg on 28 August.
- The first batch of winners for the South African Music Awards 2022 was announced on 27 August at the same venue. A Reece, Stogie T, and Tshego performed on the second day of the awards ceremony, which was hosted by Lawrence Maleka and Nandi Madida.
- In recognition of his smash hit ‘Osama’, Zakes Bantwini, who announced recently he will be hanging up his microphone, won two awards: the Best Collaboration and the SAMRO award for the highest radio airplay composer.
- Khanyisile Mthetwa won the Best Classical/Instrumental Album award at the South African Music Awards 2022, as well as White Star Newcomer of the Year. Reece Madlisa and Zuma have now won two awards, Best Kwaito Album and Best Duo/Group. BLXCKE won Best Hip Hop Album for B4Now.
At the same venue, 27 August saw the announcement of the first batch of winners for the South African Music Awards 2022. Nandi Madida and Lawrence Maleka hosted the second day of the awards ceremony, which featured performances by Stogie T, A Reece, and Tshego, along with a touching tribute to Riky Rick.
Among the other artists who perform at this year’s South African Music Awards are Makhadzi, Takie Ndou, Shekinah, Musa Keys, Konke, Da Capo and Lloyiso. Chymamusique received two top awards at last night’s awards show, including Male Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.
Having announced recently that he would be hanging up his microphone, Zakes Bantwini was awarded two trophies for best collaboration and highest radio airplay composer for his smash hit “Osama”.
The South African Music Awards 2022 awarded Khanyisile Mthetwa ‘White Star Newcomer of the Year’ after she won the Best Classical/Instrumental Album. Reece Madlisa and Zuma have now won two awards, Best Kwaito Album and Best Duo/Group. BLXCKE won Best Hip Hop Album for B4Now.
“Our 28th instalment has certainly set the highest standard for live awards shows,” RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said.
