Global ticketing provider Ticketmaster Entertainment, headquartered in Los Angeles, today announced it is expanding into Africa with a new office in Cape Town, South Africa.

KAMPALA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Ticketmaster Entertainment, the world’s largest ticket marketplace and provider of global ticketing products and services with headquarters in Los Angeles, announced today that it will open an office in Cape Town, South Africa.

  • Today, Ticketmaster Entertainment announced it would launch operations in South Africa with its headquarters in Cape Town.
  • Ticketmaster Entertainment is one of the biggest ticket marketplaces in the world and a global provider of ticketing products and services.
  • A few years ago, Ticketmaster merged with Live Nation to form a new company called Live Nation Entertainment.
  • Read also: Spotify announced that Nomfundo Moh was selected to join the EQUAL Africa programme, which targets Africa’s female artists.

In 2010, Ticketmaster and Live Nation merged to create the entity known as Live Nation Entertainment.

In addition, Live Nation’s company said that artists, promoters, festivals, and venues, as well as sports teams, will be able to access its suite of products and digital ticketing tools designed to improve fan experiences.

“As a popular stop for the world’s biggest artists and major international sporting events, South Africa is a natural choice for us,” Ticketmaster president Mark Yovich said.

“Our unparalleled technology and continued investment in innovation will enable our South African team to provide the best ticketing experience to event organisers, venues and fans across the country.”

“Our local team of experts have been living and breathing live events for 20-plus years and are ready to bring their industry-wide knowledge coupled with the world’s largest ticket marketplace to clients and fans here,” Ticketmaster South Africa managing director Justin Van Wyk said.

“As a country rapidly adopting digital technology, South African fans are sure to embrace Ticketmaster’s industry-leading digital ticketing innovations.”

Ticketmaster’s South Africa division comes after the announcement of its Attractions segment earlier this month. Attractions offers services and technology to immersive event producers, exhibit operators, and promoters.
