Serbian President Aleksandar Vičič Congratulates Cheptegei for 10,000m World Title Win

During Sunday's race, Cheptegei dominated and clinched gold in the men's 10,000m finals, completing the race in 27.51.42 seconds.

H.E Aleksandar Vučić, the President of Serbia, congratulates Joshua Cheptegei, Uganda’s accomplished marathon runner, on securing his third successive 10,000m World Title in Budapest, Hungary.

KAMPALA, UGANDA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — The President of Serbia, H.E. Aleksandar Vučić, has extended his congratulations to Uganda’s marathon champion, Joshua Cheptegei. Cheptegei secured his third consecutive 10,000m World Title in Budapest, Hungary.

”Allow me to extend to you my congratulations for the 10.000m gold medal that your athlete Joshua Cheptegei won in Budapest. I was truly happy to attend this momentous race and witness his magnificent last lap.” Vučić said in a statement.

”I would also take this opportunity to refer to your recent visit to the Republic of Serbia, when we had fruitful and constructive discussions on way forward in cooperation between our two friendly countries. I hope that we will be able to deliver on agreed points and provide tangible results to the benefits of our citizens.”

”I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to you my cordial regards and the assurances of my highest consideration.”

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni received the warm congratulations on behalf of Uganda.

President Vučić conveyed his message directly from Budapest, Hungary, where he was present at the stadium to witness Cheptegei’s victory.

In the same vein, President Museveni also offered his congratulations to Serbia’s Ivana Vuleta, who clinched the gold title in the long jump event at the ongoing World Athletics Championships.

On Sunday, Cheptegei showcased his dominance by securing gold in the men’s 10,000m finals.

He achieved this feat by completing the race in a remarkable time of 27.51.42 seconds. This victory solidified his position as the fourth man in history to achieve three consecutive 25-lap world titles.
