Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Musician Daddy Andre, also known as Andrew Ojambo, has explained his decision to leave the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), which was led by Eddy Kenzo.

When asked about his affiliation between the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) and UNMF, Daddy Andre calmly stated that he represents UMA, despite having been a UNMF member for some time.

He indicated that one of the reasons for quitting the Mutundwe-based musicians federation was the failure of its members to differentiate between the federation’s work and the work of individual artists. Additionally, he mentioned that the federation leaders made the mistake of convening meetings with various associations but couldn’t reach a common goal, leading to the dissolution of these associations.

Furthermore, Daddy Andre expressed discomfort with the creation of fake associations by the federation, a move that didn’t align with his views.

It’s worth noting that Daddy Andre is not the first prominent musician to leave UNMF, as several respected artists, including Spice Diana, Afrigo Band members, Big Eye, Grenade Official, and others, have also announced their departure from the federation.
