Police Offer Bounty for Bbosa Murder Suspect: Call for Tips on Lujja Bbosa Tabula

Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Police are offering a reward of Shs10 million for any information leading to the arrest of a key suspect in the murder of Daniel Bbosa, a prominent businessman and leader of Buganda’s Ndiga (Sheep) clan. Bbosa was fatally shot on February 25 while driving with his wife and maid in Lungujja Parish around 6pm.

The Directorate of CID made an appeal on Monday, targeting Lujja Bbosa Tabula, a 38-year-old resident of Kabango village in Mpigi District, suspected to be involved in the shooting.

Fred Enanga, police spokesperson, stated, “Anyone providing credible information that leads to his arrest will receive a cash reward of Shs10 million. We caution against harboring the suspect; those found doing so will face charges.”

Bbosa, director of Transa Electrical, was laid to rest on Sunday in Mpigi. Police have already apprehended seven suspects connected to the murder, while others remain at large.

Among the detainees is Milly Naluwenda, a Buganda Court Kisekwa official, arrested last week from Lugunjja.

Enanga further disclosed, “Seven suspects are currently in custody, including Lujja Noah, who is hospitalized and under guard. They are believed to have been involved in the shooting of Daniel Bbosa.”

Details of five suspects are withheld pending guidance from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

In other news, President Museveni has awarded Abdul Katabazi, a 45-year-old plumber from Kikandwa Zone in Lungujja, Rubaga Division, the Nalubaale medal for bravery in apprehending the suspected assailants.

Addressing Katabazi at State House Entebbe, Museveni commended his courage, likening him to a guerrilla fighter and presented him with the medal.

The country has seen an increase in murders, particularly shootings, with 4,366 people killed in 2023, marking a five percent rise from 2022. Among the fatalities, 330 were due to gunshot wounds.
