Nigerian Actress Ada Ameh Is Dead Two Years After Her Daughter’s Death

The actress, who was in Warri, Delta State, collapsed and died around 11pm yesterday. Her death was confirmed by Actors Guild of Nigeria President, Emeka Rollas.

Actress Ada Ameh, who was best known for her role in the popular sitcom ‘The Johnsons,’ has passed away at the age of 48. 

KAMPALA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Actress Ada Ameh is dead. She was a well-known Nigerian actress who had a successful career in the movie industry.

  • The tragic death of Actress Ada Ameh, the star of the hit Nollywood film ‘The Johnsons’, has left fans stunned and devastated. 
  • Her death has been confirmed by Actors Guild of Nigeria President Emeka Rollas. 
  • The actress was found unconscious in her hospital room at a Delta State hospital on Sunday night. She had suffered from depression since childhood, and openly discussed her mental health battle in public.
  • She had recently lost her only child, Aladi Godgift Ameh, to unsuccessful surgery. She had also opened up about her ongoing battle with mental illness.

Her most memorable roles include her role as Anita in the 1996 film Domitilla, and as Emu Johnson in the award-winning Nigerian television series The Johnsons. 

However, her death has left us without many details about her last days. The actress leaves behind a long list of fans who are left wondering, “Why did Ada Ameh die?“

‘The Johnsons’ star had opened up about her mental health issues just days before her death. 

According to local reports, Ada Ameh was a guest of a leading oil company executive and was visiting family when she suddenly collapsed.

She was rushed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation hospital, but succumbed before hospital staff could arrive. Her death was confirmed by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas.

Actress Ada Ameh was a popular Nollywood actress who suffered from depression and bipolar disorder. The actress had recently announced that she had a struggle with mental illness, and that it was taking her life.

She had reportedly told her company that she was unable to complete a job because of her mental health, and they were suing her for a staggering amount of money. It is not known whether she was able to fulfill this contract.

Ameh is the mother of actress Aladi Godgift Ameh. Her daughter, Aladi, died in October 2020 after undergoing unsuccessful surgery in Abuja. 

Ada Ameh, 48, was a popular Nollywood actress with a successful career that spanned two decades. 

Despite her death, she celebrated her daughter’s posthumous birthday last year. She is now in heaven.

The news about Ada Ameh’s death came as a shock to fans. Although she started her acting career 27 years ago (officially joined in 1995), she admitted that her lawsuit had weighed her down. 

She had no intention of letting the lawsuit affect her career. She had no intention of letting the lawsuit get her down and end her life.
