Who Are the Performers for Afro Nation Portugal 2023?

There are many artists set to perform at the Afro Nation Portugal 2023 festival, including Nigerian African giant Burna Boy, 50 Cent, and Asake.

LAGOS, NIGERIA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Among the first acts announced for the Afro Nation Portugal 2023 festival are Burna Boy, 50 Cent, and Asake. Other names on the bill include Booba, Aya Nakamura, Fireboy DML, Tayc, among others.

  • Afro Nation, the world’s largest Afrobeats festival, will return to Portimao, Portugal, from June 28 to 30, 2023 to celebrate the best in Afrobeats, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, amapiano, soca, and other Black-led musical genres.
  • In May 2023, Burna Boy, WizKid, Rema, Asake, Beanie Man, and more will perform at Afro Nation’s first US show in Miami, following the second edition of the festival in Ghana in 2022.
  • Performing on Afro Nation for the first time, Ayra Starr will show off her Afrosoul style and intoxicating voice that often appears on songs with Wizkid.

The lineup reflects Afro Nation Portugal’s mission to bring together music, culture, and art from all corners of the continent and diaspora, with different genres and languages represented.

This summer, Afro Nation, the world’s largest Afrobeats festival, will return to Portimao’s sun-kissed coast on June 28-30, 2023. The festival will feature the best in Afrobeats, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, amapiano, soca, and other Black-led genres of music.

With the aim of promoting diversity and inclusion, Afro Nation is set to be a three-day celebration of good vibes, unifying people from all over the world, to enjoy the warm ambience and the positive energy of live music.

In May 2023, Afro Nation will hold its first US event, featuring Burna Boy, WizKid, Rema, Asake, Beanie Man, and more. This announcement follows the second edition of Afro Nation Ghana in 2022.

Taking place from June 28 to 30, 2023, at Praia Da Rocha Beach, Portimao, the Algarve, Afro Nation Portugal 2023 will be held on one of the most popular beaches in the Algarve, about an hour’s drive away from Faro International Airport.

The Algarve is known for its stunning coastline, vibrant culture and rich heritage, making it the perfect location for Afro Nation Portugal 2023. The area boasts an array of activities and attractions, from historical sites to water sports, making it an ideal destination for visitors looking for a unique and unforgettable experience.

Nigerian superstar Burna Boy, US hip-hop royalty 50 Cent, and French-Senegalese rapper Booba will be among the artists performing at Afro Nation 2023.

This diverse lineup will highlight the unique mix of cultures and sounds found across the continent, from Afrobeat to hip-hop, from reggae to trap. It will also be a demonstration of the power and influence of African music, as some of the biggest names in the industry will be taking part.

With his vibrant brand of Lagos street pop, Asake continues the trend of Nigerian talent this year, following Fireboy DML, who achieved extraordinary chart success with Peru and a remix collaboration with Ed Sheeran after having had an extraordinary run of chart success.

Asake is the latest in a series of talented Nigerian artists to break out into international stardom, with a sound that is distinctly Nigerian yet manages to incorporate modern Western influences.

His success has brought Nigerian music to the forefront of the global music scene and is a testament to the immense talent and creativity of the country’s music scene.

Ayra Starr will also be making her Afro Nation debut, bringing her enchanting vocals and Afrosoul style to the stage.
