Kasese, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — On Tuesday evening, suspected members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) carried out a brutal attack in Kasese, Western Uganda, killing two foreign tourists and a local citizen. The assault occurred on Katwe Road within Queen Elizabeth National Park, between Lake Nyamunuka and Kabatoro.

The victims were killed and their safari vehicle was set ablaze during the attack. Security forces immediately responded and are actively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels. The region has experienced previous ADF attacks, and security efforts have been ongoing to counter the rebel group’s activities.

In a recent statement, President Yoweri Museveni commended the UPDF Airforce for air strikes targeting the ADF deep inside Congo, in the rebel group’s bases in the Mambasa area.

The president mentioned that the ADF, fleeing the fire in their Congo bases, have been reentering Uganda and attempting to carry out random terrorist acts. He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police. The ongoing efforts aim to maintain security in the region and mitigate the threat posed by ADF activities.
