Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Concord Music Publishing, in partnership with Immensum Music, has officially signed Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter Amaarae, whose real name is Ama Serwah Genfi, to a worldwide publishing deal. This agreement covers her entire catalog, as well as all her future works, including her highly successful 2023 sophomore album “Fountain Baby,” which has already garnered over 69 million global streams since its release this summer.

Jeremy Yohai, the Senior Vice President of A&R at Concord, praised Amaarae’s unique vision and songwriting approach, positioning her as one of the most exciting new voices in pop music.

Koch Okoye, the founder of Immensum, expressed his delight in sealing the deal with Amaarae, highlighting the artist’s exceptional talent and creative expression. He mentioned that they had been following her career closely since her captivating debut video for “Fluid” in 2018.

Amaarae, who enjoys five million monthly listeners on Spotify, expressed her satisfaction with joining Concord’s roster of exceptional artists. She is confident that Concord and Immensum will ensure her music reaches the right global audience.

Amaarae’s multicultural background, influenced by her time in the US and Ghana, plays a significant role in shaping her genre-blending sound, which fuses R&B, hip hop, punk rock, and Afropop. She has collaborated with global artists like CKay and Tiwa Savage, and her song “A Body, a Coffin” was featured on the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” movie Prologue EP alongside artists such as Tems and Santa Fe Klan.

In 2021, Amaarae gained international recognition with a remix of her single “Sad Girlz Luv Money,” featuring Latin pop artist Kali Uchis. The track has amassed more than 1.2 billion streams globally and debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first Ghanaian artist to achieve this milestone.

Amaarae’s star continues to rise as she recently appeared in the campaign for fashion house Mugler’s collaboration with H&M, alongside artists Shygirl and Eartheater. In 2024, she is set to embark on the “Fountain Baby” tour, with stops in major cities around the world.
