Shazam has always been the go-to app for music discovery, and with over 300 million users every month and 100 billion song recognitions since it launched, it’s no surprise. Beyond helping fans figure out “what’s that song,” Shazam has also nailed the art of spotting rising stars. It’s a music crystal ball that’s been right more often than not.

This week, Shazam’s rolling out its “Fast Forward 2025” predictions—a refreshed lineup showcasing 10 up-and-coming artists in Alternative, Rock, and Country music. Want the details? There’s a new microsite where you can explore the list and catch daily updates for other genres like Dance, Pop, and Hip-Hop.

Every day through Friday, Shazam is dropping 10 artists to watch, blending insights from their data-driven algorithms with the editorial expertise of Apple Music. These artists aren’t just random picks—they’ve shown serious potential through Shazam activity across multiple countries and consistent listener buzz.

For the Alternative, Rock, and Country spotlight, here are some names making waves:

Cameron Whitcomb

This Canadian Country singer caught Shazam’s attention back in December 2023 in Canada and Sweden. His breakout track “Quitter” made noise across the U.S., eventually climbing onto the Canadian charts in late 2024. After dropping his EP, Quitter, Shazam tags skyrocketed, proving this guy’s music resonates big time.

Noeline Hofmann

Another Canadian making her mark, Hofmann turned heads with her Zach Bryan collab, “Purple Gas.” The track didn’t just trend—it hit No. 3 on the Shazam Norway chart and cracked Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100. Touring since late 2024, Hofmann’s schedule is packed into 2025.

Lucky Love

French Alternative singer Lucky Love broke through in 2023 with “MASCULINITY (MJF Spotlight Session),” which first charted globally that August. A viral sensation, the song pushed Lucky Love into their home country’s charts by 2024. This blend of raw emotion and catchy beats is redefining Alternative.

Moody Joody

This U.S.-based band’s dreamy track “Velvet Connection” first blew up in Japan before finding a bigger audience worldwide. After their Dream Girl EP dropped in 2024, streams on Apple Music surged fivefold. Their sound is fresh, experimental, and undeniably magnetic.

Adrien Nunez

A new name in American Country, Nunez made a splash in August 2024 with his debut single, “LOW ROAD.” With steady Shazam growth, it’s clear he’s got something special brewing.

Gurriers

Hailing from Ireland, this Indie-Rock band came out swinging with their debut album Come and See. The lead single “Top Of The Bill” turned Shazam charts upside down in 2023, and their 2024 tour schedule cemented their status as ones to watch.

INOHA

Indonesian fans were the first to catch on to this American Alternative band when their debut album ALOHA INOHA dropped in 2023. The single “Seventh Heaven” hit hard, driving a Shazam frenzy that hasn’t slowed down.

FUMON

This Taiwanese Rock band had their big moment with the hauntingly titled album When You Suffer, You Are Blessed. Their track “I’m Willing” remains a favorite in Taiwan and Mainland China.

Junior Varsity

This U.S.-based Alternative band gained traction in the UK after releasing “Cross The Street” in late 2024. Their Shazam activity spiked soon after, suggesting their reach is only growing.

Zach Top

Country’s rising star Zach Top has been steadily climbing since early 2024. His hit single “I Never Lie” spent weeks dominating charts in the U.S. and Canada, and his album Cold Beer & Country Music has proven to be a crowd favorite.

Shazam’s Fast Forward 2025 is more than just a list—it’s a peek into the future of music. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just curious, there’s something here for everyone. Check it out and see which of these artists becomes your next favorite.
