Makerere, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Jesus Film Project made a significant announcement on November 29 in Kampala regarding their latest cinematic project, JESUS (2025). This groundbreaking film, slated for a global release in December 2025, aims to portray the story of Jesus from the Christian Gospels, utilizing cutting-edge film technology to captivate a new generation.

JESUS (2025) Animated Film Revealed in Kampala

The launch was part of a 3-day planning event hosted by Jesus Film Project in partnership with LIFE Ministry Uganda. The event sought to catalyze leadership among 100,000 African mothers and daughters by 2025 and mobilize strategic partners for continental evangelism. Notable attendees included H.E. Hon. Mrs. Janet Kataaha Museveni, the First Lady of Uganda, and the Minister of Education and Sports, along with 200 Christian leaders from Sub-Saharan African countries.

JESUS (2025) aims to support families in presenting Jesus’ teachings and truth, aiding parents in discipling younger generations. David Wataba, Jesus Film Project’s Regional Strategy Leader for Africa, and LIFE Ministry Uganda National Director emphasized the collaboration with Premise Studios to deliver this film, making the true story of Jesus accessible globally.

This film serves as a remarkable remake of the 1979 JESUS film, holding a Guinness World Record as the most translated film. Utilizing visual effects and computer graphics expertise from renowned teams with credits from Pixar, Disney, and Star Wars, JESUS (2025) is expected to touch lives through various platforms, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and the emerging Metaverse.
