Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, the Bardege-Layibi Division Member of Parliament, has officially aligned himself with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

KAMPALA, UGANDA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, the Bardege-Layibi Division Member of Parliament, has taken a significant step by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

The signing ceremony, held at the NRM Head Offices in Nakasero, was witnessed by key party figures, including NRM Secretary-General Richard Todwong and Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua.

Todwong Commends Mapenduzi’s Decision

During the ceremony, NRM Secretary-General Richard Todwong praised Mapenduzi’s decision to align himself with the party, hailing it as a bold and wise move. He emphasized the importance of unity and togetherness among leaders, highlighting that this step exemplifies a growing recognition of the significance of unity.

Todwong urged other leaders to follow suit and embrace this generational call.

Acknowledging Independent MPs’ Commitment

Todwong also expressed congratulations to all independent Members of Parliament who have signed MoUs with the NRM, recognizing their dedication to working together for the common good. He emphasized that members from different political parties are not viewed as enemies but as partners in the nation’s development.

Mapenduzi’s Belief in Collaboration

Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi expressed his excitement and belief in the power of collaboration, stressing that leadership is not just a position but a responsibility. He affirmed his commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others, stating that the signing of the MoU signifies his dedication to serving the people.

“In my entire life, I have looked at leadership not as a position but as a responsibility, and so I have always taken seriously what I am supposed to do and done it in the spirit of impacting positives in the lives of others. As we sign this relationship and cooperation agreement, I have the strongest belief that it is in the spirit of doing good and serving the people, and I am privileged to have signed it.” he said.

Obua Highlights Mapenduzi’s Contributions

Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua praised the signing of the MoU as a significant achievement for the NRM Parliamentary Caucus in Parliament. He emphasized the value of Mapenduzi’s contributions, expressing the party’s pleasure in having him on board and believing that his input will be valuable.

“We are pleased to have Hon. Mapenduzi on board, and we believe that his contributions will be valuable to the party.” he said.

Deepening Relationship and Cooperation

The signing of the MoU marks a milestone in the deepening relationship and cooperation between Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi and the NRM. It reflects a belief that leadership should transcend party affiliations and focus on the common goal of serving the nation.

This step demonstrates the NRM’s commitment to inclusivity and collaboration, where members from diverse backgrounds join forces for the collective benefit of Uganda.

Enoch Barata Conducts Signing Ceremony

The signing ceremony was conducted by the NRM’s legal officer, Counsel Enoch Barata, ensuring the MoU’s legal validity and solidifying the agreement between Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi and the ruling party.

With the MoU signing completed, Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi now officially joins the ranks of the NRM, enabling him to participate in party activities and contribute to the formulation of policies that will shape Uganda’s future.
