Famous Nollywood actor and singer, Moses Armstrong was recently arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl.
KAMPALA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Actor and singer Moses Armstrong, popular in Nollywood, has been arrested by men from the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl.
- Moses Armstrong, a Nigerian actor, was arrested by Akwa Ibom police after allegedly raping a minor.
- He had been working as the governor’s Special Assistant before he was arrested. He is known for his roles in “Bridge of No Return” and “Udeme Mmi”.
- The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the actor’s arrest and said that such acts are not condoned by the association.
- Martha Udom Emmanuel, the state’s First Lady, is said to be pursuing justice in this matter through her NGO, Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative.

Movie producer-turned politician Moses Armstrong, known for his roles in the films ‘Bridge of No Return’ and ‘Udeme Mmi’, had been serving as the governor’s special assistant before his arrest.
Actors Guild of Nigeria president, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the arrest and described it as a “very serious case”. Such acts are not tolerated by members of the guild, Rollas said.
Emeka explained that this case is being handled by the First Lady of the state, Martha Udom Emmanuel, as part of her Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative.
“To get involved with a child as young as 16 years, is not something I and the association I represent, would stand for,” said Mr Rollas.
“This is a very sad development involving a member of ours, but I wouldn’t want to comment any further on this case.”
Rita Armstrong died in an accident
In 2018, Moses Armstrong lost his wife, Rita Armstrong, to a fatal accident. According to local reports, she died as a result of spinal cord injuries from an accident.
The accident happened on Saturday afternoon, February 3, 2018, as Rita Armstrong was returning from Lagos to the home of her husband in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
At the Ugbogui axis of the Benin-Ore-Lagos Expressway, the Akwa Ibom Transportation Company (AKTC) bus conveying her was involved in a horrible accident.
