Jinja, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — President Museveni recently announced promotions within the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), with a total of 382 officers elevated in rank.

Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye, the UPDF spokesperson, conveyed the news via the UPDF’s official communication platform. The promotions range from Lieutenant to Captain for 210 soldiers, Captain to Major for 92, Major to Lieutenant Colonel for 61, Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel for 18, Acting Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel for 5, Acting Captain to Captain for 2, Acting Major to Major for 2, Acting Colonel to Colonel for 4, and Colonel to Brigade General for 1 officer.

Brig Gen Kulayigye extended congratulations to all the officers on their well-deserved promotions on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and the UPDF.
