“In the same light, I call upon all of you to work hard especially you Christians. Do not sit and pray for miracle wealth. Work so that you represent God better. Let your light shine before men so that they see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven,”.
The remarks by President Museveni were made while he was attending the ‘Light Up Luwero for Jesus Mission Crusade’ organised by Pastor Patience Rwabwogo and the Covenant Nations Church over the weekend.
In part of his speech, Museveni also expressed gratitude to his daughter Patience Rwabwogo for having been the first pastor in the family. He expressed delight to see someone he knows is helping to bring Luweero’s people closer to God.
“I thank my daughter Patience for bringing me here where I had to put landmines for the Obote people, but this time, I have come in peace. I thank Patience for being the first Pastor in my whole family tree and for teaming up with Bishop Lwere to come and pray for the people in Luwero, to set them free of the spiritual bonds they had.”

Meanwhile, he rubbished the talk that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) government has over the years abandoned the people of Greater Luweero following the war that brought them into power in 1986.
For years, following a number of media interviews with residents of Luweero, many continue to reiterate that the NRM has done less to support their welfare with the reason linkened to their area being a war zone back then before the current government came to power.
Speaking about this, however, Museveni explained that the people who have held leadership positions in the past years in the district were just not supportive to them but the government initiatives were in place most especially those to do with elevating them out of poverty.
He said even now the current leaders they chose have not benefited them. He in addition, promised that they (NRM) are determined to rebuild their relationship with them.
“It is not true that the government forgot the people of Greater Luwero. Let us start our relationship between the government and the people of Luwero afresh. We sent some leaders to you who didn’t help much while you also elected leaders who were not helpful. But today, we are starting afresh,” the president added.
