Lagos, Nigeria | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has dropped his debut album, “The Evil Genius.” The album, released through his independent record label emPawa Africa, is now available on various streaming platforms such as Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Audiomack, and Boomplay Music. “The Evil Genius” showcases Mr Eazi’s versatility and features a fusion of Afrobeats, Afropop, gospel, hiplife, highlife, and folklore. It includes collaborations with international producers and artists, making it a pan-African project. The album also comes with a visual art component featuring unique art pieces commissioned for each track.
Mr Eazi’s album represents his most personal work, delving into themes of love, betrayal, loneliness, and family across three distinctive movements or acts. The artist expressed his intention to bridge the gap between Africa’s pop music industry and its fine art creators by incorporating visual art from various African nations into the album. Exhibition listening experiences for the album have been held in Ghana and London, with additional exhibitions in other cities planned.
