Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Sheilah Gashumba, a well-known figure in Kampala’s social scene and daughter of Mr. Gashumba, is celebrating her recent appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of NRG Radio Uganda. NRG Radio, a rapidly growing station established nearly two years ago, has quickly become a favorite among urban youth with its broadcasts on 106.5 FM.
Gashumba’s journey with NRG Radio began on February 10, 2023, when she started as a radio presenter for the show “Total Access,” airing every Friday evening from 7 pm to 10 pm. Alongside Zamn Zion and Ugandan DJ VX Faisal, she entertained listeners with her vibrant personality.
After a year of dedicated service, Gashumba has now risen to the position of CEO, marking a significant milestone in her career. The news was officially announced by NRG Radio on social media platforms, welcoming Gashumba to her new role with enthusiasm.
Taking to her own social media accounts, the 28-year-old shared her excitement about the opportunity to lead NRG Radio Uganda, expressing her eagerness to hear feedback from listeners and promising an exciting future for the station.
Gashumba’s journey in the media industry began back in 2007 when she started presenting a teen’s club show on WBS TV. In 2009, she made history as the youngest journalist to cover the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kampala, where she contributed to the CHOGM Teens column for Daily Monitor, Uganda’s leading independent newspaper.
