American rapper and songwriter Lecrae is set to perform in Kigali for the first time this Saturday, 6 September, as part of his ongoing Reconstruction world tour.
The concert will be staged at KCEV, better known locally as Camp Kigali, with gates opening at 5pm and the show beginning an hour later.
Lecrae, 45, has built a career at the intersection of hip hop and gospel music. Born Lecrae Devaughn Moore, he is a four-time Grammy Award winner, the founder and president of Reach Records, and one of the most recognisable names in Christian rap.
His work has been honoured with multiple BET and Stellar Awards, and albums such as Anomaly, Restoration and Church Clothes have earned him both critical acclaim and a global following. Much of his music carries themes of hope, justice, personal transformation and faith.

The Reconstruction Tour began last week in Harare, Zimbabwe, and will run through to early December in Brisbane, Australia. The 42-day trek includes stops in Lecrae’s hometown of Atlanta, as well as Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and Nashville, before heading across Africa and onwards to Australia. Kigali will be the second African city to host the tour.
In a video message to his Rwandan fans, Lecrae said:
“The Reconstruction Tour is coming to your backyard, Rwanda. I’m excited to bring it to you. We’ve got an incredible show for y’all and we’re reconstructing, like I said.”
He added: “So we’re going to get some of the music from Gravity, Anomaly, Rehab, and on top of that, I will give you new music from the Reconstruction album.”
