Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Ugandan artist A Pass, aka Alexander Bagonza, just dropped his latest album ‘BAGONZA’, available for streaming and download. This release marks his 10th year in the music scene, celebrating a decade of being a versatile artist – singer, songwriter, and producer.

Bagonza is dropping new album soon

After five years of recording, setbacks, and careful track selection, the 42-track album is now live on major digital platforms. A Pass and his team spilled some interesting details at the listening party on January 30 at The Villa in Bukoto.

‘BAGONZA‘ explores diverse forms of love across its tracks, covering everything from unrequited love to lust, infatuation, obsession, and emotions like regret and self-belief.

A Pass described the album as initially planned for the bedroom but turned into a general love album, inspired by the various facets of love. He emphasized the authenticity of the title, reflecting his identity and the album’s dedication to love.

Producer Sir Dan Magic mentioned they crafted 100 songs but narrowed it down to the final 42. A Pass delves into the tracks, sharing stories like ‘LIKE RONALDO,’ inspired by the hard work of the legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

‘TRUE STORY’ takes a personal turn as A Pass recalls a short-lived relationship lasting only six days. The emotional ‘TURN ME ON’ is dedicated to his father during a vulnerable period.

‘BAD AND BAD’ came right after his sister’s wedding, while ‘I WISH’ reflects on regret in love. Collaborations like ‘TOUCH YOU DOWN’ and ‘I DON’T DESERVE’ add layers to the album’s narrative.

A Pass expressed his gratitude to collaborators like Tryton, Ceee, and Akeine, and shared the significance of each track, including ‘NAKUPENDA,’ the oldest song on the album.

During the listening party, A Pass acknowledged producer Baru Beatz for his outstanding work, especially in mixing and mastering 42 songs over a year. Visual artist Hatmax joined to discuss the album artwork’s digital creation, urging fellow artists to embrace this medium.

The night concluded with an auction of A Pass’s past album artwork portraits and souvenirs, followed by performances of classics with the JANZI BAND.
