Lagos, Nigeria | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Nigerian superstar Davido, Ghanaian sensation Black Sherif, and British-Gambian rapper J Hus are set to steal the spotlight as the headliners of AfroFuture 2023 festival in Accra, Ghana on December 28 and 29.

Formerly named Afrochella, this festival, organized by Culture Management Group, returns to its traditional venue at the El Wak Stadium. AfroFuture aims to celebrate African culture, featuring the works of creatives and entrepreneurs from across the continent. This year’s theme, “Black Unification & Pan Africanism,” pays homage to black pioneers worldwide, emphasizing their contributions to art, culture, and innovation. It also delves into global connections, shared experiences among Africans, pan-African history, and the political role of the diaspora.

Abdul Karim Abdullah, AfroFuture’s co-founder and CEO, expressed the festival’s significance beyond mere entertainment, calling it a comprehensive celebration of African culture, talents, and contributions on a global scale. The event will blend food, art, fashion, and music to provide a memorable experience for attendees.

Kenny Agyapong, AfroFuture’s COO and co-founder, emphasized the festival’s role in boosting Ghana’s tourism and hospitality sectors by attracting international visitors. AfroFuture stands as one of Ghana’s renowned cultural events, fostering engagement, generating interest, and boosting tourism, ultimately establishing Ghana as a premier destination for global travelers.

Apart from the music festival, AfroFuture 2023 will host various activities. The Afro Expo 2023, a two-week event, will feature digital experiences, wellness sessions, screenings, and panel discussions focused on culture, technology, health, film, music, and art. The event will connect the diaspora with industry experts and changemakers, facilitating opportunities within Africa.
