Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Airtel Money Uganda, in collaboration with AAR Health Services and Bluewave, has introduced a cost-effective comprehensive health insurance product called Ddwaliro Care, designed to address the healthcare needs of individuals and families in Uganda.

The product offers three options with varying coverage limits and funeral benefits, catering to different needs and budgets. This initiative aims to make health insurance more accessible and affordable to the majority of Ugandans who do not have insurance coverage. Coverage extends from birth to 65 years, and children aged 18 to 24 can be included if they are still attending school.

The partnership is expected to leverage the high mobile phone penetration in Uganda to increase health insurance adoption, which currently stands at less than 1%.

Ddwaliro Care can be accessed by Airtel Money customers through a simple dialing code, and it offers inpatient coverage for self, family members, or third parties. The goal is to provide affordable and accessible coverage to a wider segment of the population, helping them manage healthcare costs more effectively.
