Apple Music just launched Music Haptics, a new feature that makes music more immersive for everyone, including users who are deaf or hard of hearing. Using the iPhone’s Taptic Engine, Music Haptics transforms the sounds of a song into taps, textures, and vibrations that sync directly with the audio.
The feature works with Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, Shazam, and compatible third-party apps when your iPhone’s connected to Wi-Fi or cellular.
Apple also introduced a dedicated space for Music Haptics with curated playlists like Haptics Beats, Haptics Bass, Haptics Vibrations, and Haptics Hits. Starting today, Apple Music subscribers worldwide can explore and feel music in a new way.
To turn on Music Haptics, go to Settings on your iPhone, tap Accessibility, and make sure Music Haptics is enabled. You’ll see the Music Haptics icon on the Now Playing screen, Home Screen, and Control Center for any track that supports it. Tap the icon once to pause the haptics and again to restart it.
Music Haptics works on iPhone 12 and later models (except iPhone SE, 3rd generation) and requires iOS 18 or later.
