Nation Media Group Uganda named Flavia Tumusiime as its new Head of Broadcasting. The announcement came via a management statement and was shared on Flavia’s X (formerly Twitter). She brings 22 years of media experience from television, radio, and digital platforms.
Flavia’s appointment aims to boost NMG Uganda’s future in broadcast. Her skills in content strategy, audience engagement, and digital transformation make her a strong fit for the role. She has worked in Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa, which gives her an edge over other applicants.
At 36, Flavia started her career as a presenter on WBS TV’s Teens Club show. She later hosted Capital FM’s Desert Island Discs and served as a news anchor at NTV Uganda. She replaces Johnson Omollo, following Agnes Konde, who led the role between 2013 and 2017.
Flavia will manage NMG’s radio stations—KFM and Dembe FM—and TV channels like NTV Uganda and Spark TV. Besides being a seasoned media professional, she’s also an actress, VJ, and author of “30 Days of Flavia.” She is married to Andrew Kabuura, head of sports broadcast at Next Media, and they have three children, including twins.
