American rapper Kendrick Lamar is set to take the stage as the headliner at the highly anticipated Hey Neighbour Festival 2023. The festival will be held at Legends Adventure Farm in Pretoria, South Africa, from 8 to 10 December.

KAMPALA, UGANDA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — American rapper Kendrick Lamar, known for his thought-provoking lyrics and ground-breaking music, is set to headline the Hey Neighbour Festival 2023 in Pretoria, South Africa.

The festival, organized by Glen21, will take place at Legends Adventure Farm from 8 to 10 December.

Headliners and Supporting Acts

Joining Kendrick Lamar as headliners is the talented US artist H.E.R., adding to the excitement of the event. The lineup also includes Khalid, the US multi-platinum selling global superstar who was named one of Time’s Most Influential People of 2019.

The Chainsmokers, the American DJ and production duo consisting of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall, and Swedish House Mafia, the Swedish trio consisting of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso, will also take the stage.

Kendrick Lamar’s visit to South Africa in the past served as inspiration for his jazz-flavored third studio album, “To Pimp a Butterfly,” which achieved critical acclaim and reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

Lamar, who started his career performing as K Dot, quickly gained attention in his hometown of Compton, California, leading to his signing with Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) in 2005.

Regarded as one of the most influential hip hop artists of his generation, Lamar is known for his progressive musical styles and socially conscious songwriting. His remix of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the same year.

His discography includes notable albums such as “Section.80” (2011), “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City” (2012), “Damn” (2017), and “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” (2022). In addition to numerous Grammy Awards, Lamar has received accolades at the Emmy Awards, American Music Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and Billboard Music Awards, among others.
