Singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage, born Tiwatope Savage, has announced her 17-date ‘Water & Garri’ North American tour in support of her 2021 EP.
KAMPALA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has announced 17 North American dates for her upcoming tour titled ‘Water & Garri‘. The “Somebody’s Son” songstress made the announcement while chatting with BBC Radio 1Xtra’s host Remi Burgz late last week.
Featuring an impressive lineup of international musical heavyweights, Water & Gari EP topped charts and became a genre-bending project of our dreams.
Among the musicians featured on the Water & Gari EP are American rapper Nas, who contributed his lyrical expertise to the track “Work Fada,” R&B legend Brandy on “Somebody’s Son,” and up-and-coming Ghanaian artist Amaarae.
Tiwa Savage could not hide her excitement at taking on the global stage on her upcoming North American tour, posting the following message:
Among Tiwa Savage’s noteworthy achievements in Europe and North America is her recognition as the first female artist to win Best African Act at MTV’s 2018 European Music Awards, having been named one of Vogue’s ‘Most Inspirational Women’ and having a Billboard cover dedicated to her.
Later this year, the Nigerian superstar will once again perform in New York City at ‘LETSGETFR.EE’, alongside Wizkid, Tems, Mr. Eazi, and international stars such as Missy Elliot, Anderson Paak, Kali Uchis, Bas, Jhene Aiko, and too many more.
In August, the festival, organized by AFROPUNK founder Matthew Morgan, will take place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
