Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Darius Mugoye, the second vice president of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), has passed away. His death was confirmed in a statement by the Federation on November 7, 2023. Mugoye died at Mengo Hospital. According to FUFA spokesperson Ahmed Hussein, he had been hospitalized for an illness for less than two weeks.

Darius Mugoye had been serving as the second vice president of FUFA under President Moses Magogo since 2013. They were re-elected to their positions by FUFA delegates earlier this year. The Federation has not yet announced details regarding his burial.

Anita Among, the Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, also expressed her condolences, highlighting Mr. Mugoye’s significant contributions to the sports and education sectors. She extended sympathies to his family, friends, the FUFA family, and the entire sports fraternity, wishing his soul to rest in eternal peace.
