UBC TV’s Ashraf Karungi, informed by the deceased’s wife, found Baguma unconscious in bed and attempted to rush him to the hospital. Despite efforts, Baguma was already deceased upon arrival.

The widow, Rose Abooki, reported that Baguma collapsed after returning from his shop in Kinjura trading center. Colleagues remembered him as disciplined, hardworking, and passionate about journalism. Emmanuel Okello of the Ugandan Radio Network expressed shock at Baguma’s sudden demise.

Ismail Bategeka, another journalist, praised Baguma for his developmental approach to journalism and noted his promising future. Survived by a wife and three children, Baguma, the son of esteemed farmer Kanaginagi Ateenyi, commenced his journalism career in 2009 at former radio Kitara, later joining Bunyoro Broadcasting Services (BBS FM), and finally, Vision Group in 2010.
