Publiseer, a digital content distribution platform for Africa founded by Nigerians, has now been added to the Chinese audiobook and e-book platform Lazy Joy.

KAMPALA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Nigeria’s premier distribution platform for digital content, Publiseer, has now partnered with China’s e-book and audiobook service Lazy Joy to bring digital content to a global audience.

  • The Chinese audiobook and e-book platform Lazy Joy will now offer audiobooks and e-books from Nigeria’s Publiseer, a digital content distributor for Africa.
  • Chidi and Chika Nwaogu created Publiseer in 2017 with the aim of promoting and monetising the works of over 7000 creatives in various African countries. This includes Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Togo.
  • Creators and authors are expected to benefit from Publiseer X Lazy Joy, particularly on smartphones from brands like Xiaomi, Vivo, Huawei, Oppo, Transsion, and TCL.

In 2017, Chidi and Chika Nwaogu founded Publiseer to help African creatives monetise and promote their work.

The company has worked with over 7 000 creatives, including musicians, independent writers, filmmakers, and video game developers in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Togo.

The company also offers postproduction services, such as the remastering and editing of video and music before distribution.

Publiseer X Lazy Joy is expected to provide creators and authors with more exposure, especially on smartphones manufactured by Xiaomi, Vivo, Huawei, Oppo, Transsion and TCL.

“brings us a step closer towards making our authors truly global. Authors on Publiseer don’t need to take any action to get their books on Lazy Joy. We will do that for them automatically.”

This move follows an announcement by Publiseer in April that it would start distributing its songs on social networking platforms such as Triller and Snapchat.

“Adding Triller and Snapchat to our list of music partners is something we’ve had in the pipeline for a long time now, and we’re happy to see where this milestone takes us,” Chidi Nwaogu said.

The service also distributes to Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora and Deezer, among others.

In New York, US, last week, Publiseer was accepted into the 2022 Starta Accelerator programme. This program provides tools to international startups to expand their market presence in the US while raising capital.
