Former Assistant Auditor General of Uganda, Keto Kayemba, has been elected as the new president of the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA).
KAMPALA, UGANDA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — The Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) has announced the election of Keto Kayemba as its new president. The announcement was made during the 13th PAFA general assembly, held on May 14, 2023, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
PAFA: Strengthening the Accountancy Profession in Africa
Established in May 2011, PAFA is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the capacity and influence of the accountancy profession across Africa.
With its focus on strengthening the profession, PAFA plays a crucial role in promoting financial transparency, accountability, and good governance throughout the continent.
A Historic Achievement for Uganda
Keto Kayemba’s election as PAFA president is a historic moment for Uganda, as she becomes the first Ugandan to hold this prestigious position. Her inauguration signifies the recognition of her leadership capabilities and contributions to the profession.
A Distinguished Career in Accountancy
Prior to her election as president, Kayemba served as the vice president of PAFA, showcasing her commitment and experience within the federation. Moreover, her impressive career includes serving as the Deputy Chairperson of the Professional Accountancy Development Committee of the International Federation of Accountants.
She has also been an active member of the Council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
