Singer Azawi Announces ‘African Music Concert’ at Lugogo Grounds on 22nd July

Priscilla Zawedde alias Azawi, the fastest-rising female singer from Uganda with a GRAMMY potential, has revealed the date and venue for her maiden show ‘African Music Concert’ set for next month.

KAMPALA | NOW THEN DIGITAL  — The fastest rising female singer with a GRAMMY potential, Priscilla Zawedde alias Azawi has revealed the date and venue for her maiden show titled “African Music Concert”, to be held next month in Kampala.

  • ‘African Music Concert’ by Azawi joins the growing list of artists slated to celebrate their musical journeys in 2022. 
  • Azawi’s announcement follows Sheebah Karungi’s announcement of her biggest concert of 2022 to be held at Kampala Serena Hotel on 9TH December.
  • In 2021, Azawi released her debut album, “African Music”. Since then, she has never looked back as she has been welcomed by music lovers in and outside of Africa.
  • This “Azawi African Music Concert” will take place at Lugogo Cricket Oval on 22nd July 2022, and it will follow the success of the 16-track album.

By announcing her concert, Azawi becomes the latest musician to commit to their musical journeys before the year ends.

Azawi’s “African Music Concert” comes days after Sheebah Karungi announced her biggest 2022 concert of the year to take place at the Kampala Serena Hotel on 9th December.

Furthermore, Sheebah Karungi noted that in this concert, she will be honoring her “journey, strength, patience, and consistency”, in addition to expressing gratitude for her fans’ abiding love for her.

Azawi’s music journey

Since Azawi released her debut album ‘African music’ in 2021, she has never looked back, earning herself a growing following both within and outside of Uganda.

A 16-track project, the follow-up EP to the 2020 EP ‘LoFit’, was released on October 9, 2021, via Swangz Avenue Management, a record label company in Uganda.

The album featured guest appearances by Ugandan artists like Fik Fameica, A Pass, and Eddy Kenzo, among others.

In addition to its massive success in Uganda and beyond, the album saw Azawi featured in New York’s Times Square Billboard, thanks to the #YouTubeBlack Voices Music Class of 2022.

This Times Square Billboard placement brings Azawi into the mix with heavy hitters like Eddy Kenzo, Bobi Wine, and more recently Spice Diana who have also featured their projects.

Azawi on ‘African Music Concert’

With less than a month left until her debut concert, the Fwa Fwa star Azawi hinted that she would only bring good vibes, a party mood, and no bad energy.

Azawi made it known through her social media platforms that she wants to culminate her 3 years of hard work in one evening of magic in order to share her accomplishment.

In a concert titled “Azawi African Music Concert”, the singer will perform at Lugogo Cricket Oval on 22nd July 2022, following the success of 16 track album “African Music.”

She posted: 

MY MAIDEN CONCERT. 22 JULY. LUGOGO. 3 Years of work packed in one evening of magic. Vibes only, No bad energy.. party mood only AzawiAfricanMusicConcert.
