In an exclusive interview with Apple Music, Da Capo shares his excitement about the cover feature, his newly released EP Bakone, and a curated playlist that reflects his musical journey.

“I am really excited to be picked to be on the cover of Isgubhu this month,” Da Capo tells Apple Music. “I’m also excited to share some of the songs that I have been playing on tour at home and abroad, as well as tracks from diverse collaborations and remixes that are close to my heart. Also, I’m excited to share some music from my new EP Bakone.”

A Journey from Seshego to International Acclaim

Da Capo’s unwavering passion for electronic music has led him on an extraordinary path from the small township of Seshego in Limpopo, South Africa, to international recognition. As a self-taught artist, Da Capo has established himself as one of the country’s premier house music DJs and producers.

His name, rooted in Italian origins meaning “from the beginning,” symbolizes the start of a remarkable musical journey that has taken him to renowned stages across the globe, including OUTPUT in New York and Djoon in Paris.

Refining an Afro-House Sound

With each release, Da Capo has continued to refine his trailblazing Afro-house sound. Starting with his self-titled debut in 2014, which featured acclaimed vocalists Clara Hill, Rona Ray, and Soulstar, Da Capo has since captivated audiences with albums like Touched (2016), Indigo Child (2017), and genesis (2020).
