Tanzanian bongo flava recording artist, Diamond Platnumz, also known as Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, is set to grace the stage in Kampala this July.
KAMPALA, UGANDA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Tanzanian bongo flava recording artist, Diamond Platnumz, and Kenyan pop artist, Nameless, are set to perform at a Comedy Store Fundraising concert in Kampala this July.
The concert, taking place at Kololo ceremonial grounds on July 14, aims to raise funds for the activities run by the Comedy Store Foundation.
The Comedy Store Foundation runs three programs: the Annual Home of Hope Charity Football Match, Comedy Store Auditions, and Youth Training & Mentorship Program. The Comedy Store Auditions Program, which runs monthly, seeks to skill and groom the next generation of comedians. Over 300 budding comics have already participated in the program, with more to come. The Youth Training & Mentorship Program provides critical life skills mentoring to young students.
Nameless: A Trailblazer in Kenyan Music
Nameless, a multi-award-winning artist, has paved the way for numerous Kenyan musicians to gain global recognition and collaborate with artists from across Africa.
Through his musical talents, he has made significant contributions to the music industry in Kenya.
Star-Studded Performances
The charity concert will showcase a range of talented artists, including Spice Diana, King Saha, Winnie Nwagi, Ray G, Alien Skin, Karole Kasita, Naava Grey, Zex Bilangilangi, Daddy Andre, Abeeka Band, Eezzy, Figo West, and more.
Comedians such as MC Mariachi, Madrat & Chiko, Mualana and Reign, Teacher Mpamire, Merry Heart, Sammy and Sahwa, among others, will also take the stage to entertain the audience.
Diamond Platnumz Takes Center Stage
Diamond Platnumz, the renowned founder and CEO of WCB Wasafi Record Label, Wasafi Bet, and Wasafi Media, will be the main attraction of the show.
With his massive following in East and Central Africa, Diamond Platnumz is expected to deliver a captivating performance that will thrill his fans and admirers. He is set to perform for a duration of two full hours, promising an unforgettable experience for concert-goers.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
The Comedy Store Fundraising concert aims to raise funds to support the initiatives run by the Comedy Store Foundation. Founded in April 2022, the foundation focuses on youth skilling, mentorship, and positively impacting society.
Through programs such as the Annual Home of Hope Charity Football Match, Comedy Store Auditions, and the Youth Training & Mentorship Program, the foundation aims to uplift the youth through mindset change and skills training.
Expanding Impact Nationwide
Alex Muhangi, the founder of Comedy Store, expressed his vision of expanding the activities of the Comedy Store Foundation beyond Kampala to benefit the entire nation of Uganda.
The funds raised from the concert will contribute to this expansion, enabling the foundation to reach more young people and make a greater impact.

Fostering Talent and Mentorship
The Comedy Store Auditions Program, which regularly scouts for new comedians, has already provided an opportunity for over 300 budding comics to showcase their talent and receive mentorship.
Comedian Kalela, a key figure in the program, highlighted the importance of financial support to continue scouting talent across Uganda’s universities.
Youth Training & Mentorship Program
Ken Kemba, responsible for the Youth Training & Mentorship Program, emphasized the significance of mentoring young students on essential life skills. The program has already made strides, successfully imparting knowledge to over 80 students through activities like the Makerere University law pre-entry training.
With the support of the public and attendees of the Comedy Store Fundraising concert, these programs can continue to empower and uplift the youth, fostering talent and creating opportunities for growth.
