Transitioning to Politics

With his fuel retail business behind him, Dr. Besigye expressed his intention to shift his focus entirely to his political career.

He stated, “I have decided to retire from the fuel retail business and focus on my political career.” Besigye’s dedication to politics and his aspirations to make a meaningful impact in the field have led him to make this significant decision.

A Message of Appreciation

Besigye took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Total Energies Uganda for their partnership throughout the years.

He also extended his appreciation to the station’s staff for their valuable contributions and the loyal customers who supported the business. In particular, Besigye acknowledged the customers who stood by him, even during politically challenging times since 2001.

Special thanks are reserved for our wonderful customers for supported the business all these years.
More especially, the customers that continued supporting us from 2001, when I’ve been politically persecuted.
Blessings to all.

Dispelling Ownership Speculations

Over the years, there have been speculations regarding Besigye’s ownership of the Nsambya Total station. However, Besigye clarified that these claims were untrue. He emphasized that the property and all its developments belonged to Total Energies, and he was solely an operator of the business.

I’ve never owned the property; it’s always been Total property. I was only a “Dealer”- operator of the business.

Additionally, Besigye denied ownership of other properties, including the Equatorial Hotel in Kampala, dismissing such assertions as mere propaganda.
