Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Musa Musasizi, 25, has been sentenced to 105 years in prison by the High Court in Kampala for the murder of four girlfriends and a baby in Nakulabye, Rubaga Division. Musasizi pleaded guilty to charges of burning the corpses of his victims after their murders. He was arrested in March 2021 following the death of five women and a three-month-old baby.

Musasizi, an unemployed resident of Mujomba zone 6, Nakulabye, was convicted by Judge Margaret Mutonyi. He was initially charged with six counts of murder and remanded to Kitalya prison. Prosecution revealed that Musasizi, with malice aforethought, murdered Noreen Nabirye, Violet Kansiime, Abigail Nakitende, and Elizabeth Mutesi in March 2021.

In a separate case, Musasizi and a boda boda rider, Abdul Kasaija, were charged with the murder of Mackline Ahereza on February 22, 2021. Kasaija was accused of being an accessory, assisting Musasizi in dumping and burning Ahereza’s body to help him escape punishment.

Musasizi, arrested by a joint security team in March 2021, confessed to courting the victims, having sex with them, and then killing them by either hitting their heads with a blunt object or strangling them. He dumped their bodies close to each other in Nakulabye and set them on fire.

Police reported Musasizi’s confession to murdering the women due to suspicion of infidelity, a fight after sex, and a disagreement over transport money. Clothes belonging to the victims were reportedly found in his neighbor’s latrine.
