Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has swiftly responded to rapper Sarkodie’s recent revelation about their past relationship and the abortion of their pregnancy in 2010.

ACCRA, GHANA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — In a recent turn of events, Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has found himself embroiled in a public dispute with actress Yvonne Nelson. The disagreement stems from the revelation made by Sarkodie in his track “TRYM ME,” which he released on his official YouTube page.

The song serves as Sarkodie’s response to Yvonne Nelson’s memoir, “I am not Yvonne Nelson,” where she details their past relationship and the abortion of their unborn child in 2010.

Subsequently, Nelson took to Twitter to address Sarkodie’s account, expressing her disappointment and accusing him of undermining her pain as a young woman.

The ongoing exchange between Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson has captured the attention of fans and the public alike, igniting a passionate debate about respect, accountability, and the portrayal of personal experiences in the public domain.

Yvonne Nelson Strikes Back: Challenging Sarkodie’s Respect for Women

Unafraid to speak her mind, Yvonne Nelson responded to Sarkodie’s account with a series of powerful tweets.

In one of her posts, she wrote, “Insults won’t work, Michael. Respect womanhood. I’m happy the world gets to see how you are playing this and the real you. Young women get to learn from this. You would get the applause for a rap, but it still doesn’t change the TRUTH.”

Accusations Fly: Yvonne Nelson Reveals Her Side

Yvonne Nelson accused Sarkodie of attempting to use his craft to undermine the pain she experienced as a young woman.

In her tweets, she didn’t hold back, stating, “In my book, I narrated how you got me pregnant, how you couldn’t wait for me to get rid of it. How you DROVE me to have an abortion. As usual, you want to use rap to rubbish the pain a young woman felt. We both have daughters, let’s see what life throws at them.”

The Memoir Sparks Controversy: Sarkodie Trending as Relationship Resurfaces

Last week, Sarkodie found himself at the center of attention when his past relationship with Yvonne Nelson was exposed in the actress’s memoir, titled ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson.’

The revelation sparked controversy and put the rapper under the spotlight.

I was pregnant at the time I launched my glaucoma foundation, around October 2010. I graduated from Central University in Oct. 2010. Yvonne Nelson Unveils Her Side: A Personal Account

Yvonne Nelson continued to narrate her version of events to her 1.8 million followers on Twitter, shedding light on how Sarkodie impregnated her but urged her to terminate the pregnancy, citing his young age and unreadiness for fatherhood.

Setting the record straight, she wrote, “Michael, you claim I was desperate to abort because I needed to complete school. In 2010, when I became pregnant, I had completed university. Anybody can verify this. I wasn’t in school, and you know it. If you want to lie, find a logical lie.”

She also questioned Sarkodie’s morality, asking, “And would you have readily agreed for me to keep a pregnancy when you were in a serious relationship with another lady who would become your wife? Your street line is played out.”

Adding: ”I was pregnant at the time I launched my glaucoma foundation, around October 2010. I graduated from Central University in Oct. 2010. It was my final year, but I’d completed my course work months before the October graduation and my pregnancy. I was only waiting for my certificate.”

Furthermore, Yvonne Nelson shared her anguish, revealing how she was left alone to deal with the pain associated with the abortion, as Sarkodie allegedly abandoned her at the clinic.

Sarkodie Strikes Back: His Side of the Story

Try Me song Sarkodie firmly refutes Yvonne Nelson

More than a week after the controversy erupted, Sarkodie released a track titled ‘Try Me’ on his official YouTube page, where he passionately shared his side of the story. The song, infused with both English and Twi lyrics, challenges Yvonne’s narrative about the pregnancy and its aftermath.

The chorus echoes his emotions: “If you don’t love me, leave me. Why are you pestering me? What is meant for me, you have gone to give to Kwame. I have become teary. If you don’t love me, leave me, let me be. Someone else is longing to be with me, when you were leaving me, you failed to notify me. Baby girl, don’t try me.”

As the battle between Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson rages on, the public eagerly awaits further developments. With both parties vehemently defending their versions of events, the clash continues to captivate audiences, raising questions about accountability, personal choices, and the complex dynamics of relationships in the public eye.
