Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — The documentary “Bobi Wine: The People’s President,” created by musician-turned-political activist Bobi Wine, received the Dove for Political Film of the Year from the Cinema For Peace Foundation in Berlin, Germany. This foundation is committed to advancing peace and humanity through cinematic arts.

The event, held on Monday, February 19, 2024, attracted notable figures, including former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Bobi Wine himself. Since 2002, Cinema For Peace has acknowledged outstanding filmmakers and celebrated films addressing humanitarian and environmental concerns.

Bobi Wine, along with other filmmakers, received awards during this year’s ceremony. He dedicated his award to the political prisoners in Uganda and all Ugandans working towards a better future.
