Kampala, Uganda | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Ugandan veteran sports journalist and longstanding KFM radio show host, Patrick Kanyomozi, has officially declared his retirement from the dynamic world of radio presenting and active journalism. Culminating a remarkable 13-year tenure at the Nation Media Group station, Kanyomozi bid his listeners farewell during his final show on a Friday morning.
In a social media announcement that resonated with a sense of fulfillment, the KFM Sports Producer and presenter shared his sentiments on reaching a cherished childhood aspiration. “I made my final appearance on 933kfm this morning as I retire from radio and active journalism. I leave a very contented man because from a very young age, all I ever wanted to do was to be a Radio Presenter,” he revealed on Musk’s X.
The roots of Kanyomozi’s journey trace back to his S.6 vacation, where he embarked on his radio career as a news reader. His trajectory saw him traverse through Prime Radio before settling at KFM around 2008. Notably, Kanyomozi played a pivotal role as the sports producer, show host, and co-host of the KFM-Breakfast show, collaborating with Brian Mulondo and Faiza Fabs.
Expressing gratitude for the collective support he garnered, Kanyomozi acknowledged those who contributed to his journalistic odyssey. “I am very grateful to everyone who gave me a hand on my radio and journalism journey. To everyone I have worked with or alongside, thank you,” he conveyed.
Herbert Zziwa, who worked with him for three years, praised him as the “best character on and off mic.” David Lumansi commended him for retiring at the peak of his career, and Patrick Oyulu acknowledged Kanyomozi as one of the very best.
Ismael Kiyonga affectionately addressed Kanyomozi as “OB, Muko, Uncle Solo,” underscoring the influence the retiring veteran had on his own journey. KFM, the platform where Kanyomozi etched his legacy, added its voice to the chorus, bidding him a fond farewell and expressing, “We will definitely miss you, Patrick. We wish you all the best!”

In his personal life, Kanyomozi, married to Lucky Mbabazi, celebrates a blessed union with four children. The couple, whose connection blossomed at KFM, embarked on their careers as friends.
