In a groundbreaking move, Airtel Uganda, one of the leading telecom giants in the country, has teamed up with Transtel Uganda to offer eSIM-enabled devices to the public on a hire purchase basis.

KAMPALA, UGANDA | NOW THEN DIGITAL — Airtel Uganda, one of the leading telecom companies in the country, has joined forces with Transtel Uganda, the official distributor of Samsung and Apple smartphones, to provide eSIM-enabled devices on a hire purchase basis to the public.

This exciting partnership aims to cater to the increasing demand for eSIM technology among consumers.

Henry Njoroge, the Marketing Director of Airtel Uganda, highlighted the increasing availability of smartphone models accommodating eSIM technology. The eSIM-enabled devices available through this partnership include popular models such as the Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Customers have the option to acquire these devices while paying convenient installments.

Enhancing the Digital Transformation Journey

In a statement released on Friday, Airtel Uganda highlighted the significance of this collaboration in supporting Uganda’s digital transformation journey.

By extending their partnership with Transtel Uganda, Airtel aims to open up a world of possibilities for users in terms of connectivity, travel, and managing personal and business transactions on their smartphones, all without the hassle of carrying multiple devices.
